The Kanawayihetaytan Askiy (KA) certificate is a program offered at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon focused on providing training in a broad range of areas specific to the management of lands and resources.
The program examines basic environmental, legal and economic aspects of land management on First Nations and in Indigenous communities and nations. The program allows students to learn about Aboriginal rights, planning issues, resource management and project management among other things.
The program welcomes students from across the country. About 31 % come from Saskatchewan, 24% from BC and 19% from Ontario. The program has had over 200 graduates to date.
